10 Most Common Dreams and Their Meanings

Dreams are your companion when you sleep. They say, if you do not dream, you are missing on imagination. Plus, science says, the more you dream, the better it is. According to some positive thinkers, one should dream big to achieve big. Well, believe it or not, most of the people in the world dream a lot.
But, dreams vary with your mood, state of mind, your psyche, and much more. Why is it that I always see someone chasing me and why is that my friend always feels he is falling continuously. Well, I am talking about the type of dreams people usually see. They say that every dream has a meaning attached to it! Today, I bring you 10 of the most common dreams and their respective meanings. Connect yourself, if you can!
1. Being Chased
If you often dream that someone is chasing you, it means that your subconscious mind is indicating that you have been avoiding something/someone that is painful or frightening to you. Going deeper into the dream, what matters more is who is chasing you and what is your relationship with that person. Do you know that person?
dr1
2. Falling
It is one of the most common dreams people have reported – falling and falling and continuing to call. It could possibly mean that things are not going right in your life. According to some specialists, it could also be an indication from your subconscious mind that something in your life is going in a terribly wrong direction. More or less, people suffering from depression have reported falling in their dreams.
dr2
3. Losing Teeth

Specialists say that losing teeth could indicate loss in confidence. It could also mean that you are worried about your outlook and are concerned about a particular feature of your body.
d3
4. Dying

A lot of people report seeing themselves (or their close relatives) dead in their dreams. A lot of dream interpreters say that death in dream could symbolize a new start or spiritual transformation. Seeing someone close as dead in dream could mean that you are parting ways with that person emotionally.
dr4
5. Water

Dreaming about water is considered good by some experts, as it symbolizes purification, change, and transformation of life. Going deeper into this, what decides further interpretation is whether you’ve seen a big water body, flowing river, waterfall, whether you are offer/receiving water, etc.
dr5
6. Being Cheated On

The best and the worst thing about dreams is that they are involuntary; so, you can actually dream almost anything! Dreams can express what is inside your mind. If you have dreamt about your partner cheating on you, don’t worry! Experts say that it can happen out of jealousy and you should not take such dreams seriously. Instead, you need to spend more time with each other!
dr6
7. Snakes

A lot of people have reported seeing snakes in their dreams. Experts say that it could symbolize a hidden threat that you need to take care of. If you see snake shedding its skin, it could mean renewal or a new start.
dr7
8. Being Late

Students often dream that they have run late to take their vital exam; office-goers often seem themselves as reaching late to office! Such a dream could indicate your anxiousness about your work or what you are about to come across in the near future (in terms of work).
dr8
9. Can’t Shout

People have reported dreams where they find themselves as mute. They say that they want to shout and raise an alarm, but they are unable to (in their dream). Such a dream could indicate that you are not able to express fully and something is stopping you to achieve your goals. One should take such a dream seriously and start working towards his/her goals. Even if you haven’t experienced such a dream, you ought to move towards your goals, unstoppably!
dr9
10. Celebrity

People often report seeing themselves as a celebrity in dreams. They also see themselves performing on stage and surrounded by people. These dreams could be result of watching excess of television and excessive use of internet. The idea is that when you go to bed with a pre-occupied mind, you dream accordingly!

Sony smartphones make formal entry into Nepal

Nepa Hima Trade Link, the sole authorised distributor of Sonyhome appliances in Nepal, on Monday announced the formal entry of Sony smartphones into the domestic market. Even though cell phones from Sony have been selling in Nepal market for long, there were not any official sellers.
During the ceremony, Nepa Hima Trade Link also announced the launching of five smartphone models from Sony —Xperia Z, Xperia Go, Xperia J, Xperia E and Xperia E dual. Company’s Executive Director Rajesh Tuladhar unveiled the handsets amid a programme in the Capital.
“We are pleased to introduce smartphones from Sony in Nepal market,” Tuladhar said. “The official entry of the Xperia series of smart phones will add a milestone to the smartphone market of Nepal”. Explaining that nine out of 10 cell phones, globally, are damaged due to water, Tuladhar informed that the Xperia Z and Xperia Go are water resistant and dust proof, and thus would cater to a large number of smartphone seekers. “Users of these phones need not worry about using it with wet hands or in dusty conditions,” he added.
Highlighting the key features of Z series of smartphones, Masao Matsui of Sony said that the new phones have assembled half a century of innovation carried out by other Sony devices such as TVs, cameras, music systems and gaming devices to create a super phone experience that truly stands out. “The newly introduced Z series of smartphones have become a global success. Govt plans loan interest discount for farmers

The Ministry of Agriculture Development is preparing to introduce the ‘Interest Subvention Scheme’ under which it will provide three percent discount to farmers on interest on loans taken from state-owned banks. The scheme will, however, be applicable only to loans that are taken after the scheme’s implemention.

The ministry has prepared guidelines in this regard based on the provision of the recently introduced ‘Adjusted Full Budget’ by the government. The budget has talked about providing interest subsidy to commercial agriculture too, which is currently being provided to commercial animal farming only. “We have sent the guidelines to the Finance Ministry for approval,” said Prabhakar Pathak, spokesperson of the ministry.

The agriculture sector received 7.98 percent of the total lending made by banks and financial institutions (BFIs) during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, according to Nepal Rastra Bank. The BFIs lent Rs 8.89 billion out of the total lending of Rs 111.38 billion. A total of Rs 28.79 billion was lent to the agriculture sector in the last fiscal year 2011-12.

Meanwhile, the ministry has enacted two other guidelines to promote farm mechanisation and farm insurance in a bid to boost farm production and encourage youths’ participation in the sector. “All three guidelines have been sent to the finance ministry,” Pathak said, adding, “after we receive the go-ahead, these guidelines will be sent to the Cabinet for final approval.” The ministry has proposed blanket VAT waiver on import of farm machineries.

Likewise, to encourage farmers to opt for crop insurance, the agriculture ministry has proposed 50 percent discount on insurance premium as announced through the budget. The budget has promised subsidising 50 percent premium amount that the farmers have to pay to the insurers. The government had introduced ‘Fisheries, Poultry and Agriculture Insurance Scheme’ on January 14, 2013.

“The budget has allocated Rs 20 million for this purpose,” said Pathak. The scheme aims to minimise the risk in commercialisation of agriculture sector investment and ensure the investment by farmers and ensure security in the investment made by the farmers.

Meanwhile, Minister for Agriculture Development Tek Bahadur Thapa Gharti said on Saturday that the government is mulling setting up an ‘Agriculture Departmental Store’ which will make agriculture goods available to consumers, while farmers will be able to sell their produce to it.

He also said the government is doing homework to take the ownership of the Agriculture Development Strategy (ADS) that will be completed by this April.  According to Gharti, they will make arrangements for a farm scheme and subsidy to ensure better farm productivity as recommended by the ADS.

Either become a banker or a businessman, not both: Guv

Nepal Rastra Bank ( NRB ) Governor Yuva Raj Khatiwada on Thursday advised bank directors “either to become a banker or a businessman”, saying their dual role has been “self-contradictory”.

First the directors complain about liquidity crunch and say interest rates cannot be slashed, but the same directors, presenting themselves as businessmen the next day, complain about higher interest rates, the governor said. “It is not necessary for a businessman to become a banker. It is better they part ways,” he suggested while addressing the “National Directors Conference” organised by National Banking Training Institute.

Traditionally, proprietors of business houses hold crucial positions like chairman and board members in banks and financial institutions (BFIs) they have promoted. Against this backdrop, the governor said it is not necessary that the one putting in money should hold positions on the board. He suggested appointment of professional and capable persons on the board so as to maximise profits.

Indicating most of the bank directors lack adequate banking knowledge, Khatiwada said many promoters have an illusion that they are the “masters of their banks”. “You must get out of the illusion that the company is yours,” he told the

directors. “Promoters have the mindset that why they can’t get loans from banks they have

promoted.”

The governor suggested bankers to study the existing laws which clearly define the roles and responsibilities of the board and the management. The Bank and Financial Institution Act has barred board members and promoters having more than 1 percent stake in a particular BFI from taking loans from the same BFI. He asked the bankers to understand that banks are not only their possessions, but also of employees and the society at large.

The governor flayed bank directors’ tendency to ‘lobby’ for allowing them to sanction loans to a certain interest group even if the loan seekers are not eligible. He also hit out at promoters working as employees. “The practice of taking two benefits — bonus as an employee and dividend as an investor — must end,” Khatiwada said.

Governor Khatiwada stressed on check-and-balance between the board and the management. “The situation of board members complaining about the CEO and the CEO complaining about the board must end,’ he said.

Asking bank directors not only to focus on making profits, the governor said: “Banking is not a business in which profit can be magnified within a short period, but by offering good services to customers.”

He requested BFIs to maintain strong internal control mechanism to minimise operational risks.  Risks at operational levels have emerged as a big challenge in the banking sector. This is evident with recent incidents of unauthorised withdrawals from ATMs in collusion of bank staff.

Deputy Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari said BFI boards should not intervene much in day-to-day operation. “The best corporate practice can help increase the management’s efficiency without making any intervention in their daily functioning,” he said.

Adhikari added the board should hand over the job of devising strategic plans to the management and only take up the job of forming guidelines and giving necessary approvals to plans presented by the management.

4 Predictions for the Next 40 Years in Mobile

It is a remarkable 40 years since Motorola researcher Martin Cooper called his Bell Labs rival from New York in 1973 using the DynaTAC handheld phone and, in doing so, making what is widely acknowledged as the world's first public mobile phone call.
At nine inches tall the DynaTAC was handheld in the loosest possible terms, weighing the same as one and a half bags of sugar and would have cost consumers the equivalent of nearly $10,000 in today's money. It's worth reading this copy of the original Motorola press release.
So what will the next 40 years of mobile communications hold in store for us? Here are just four of the innovations I predict we will see.
1. Beyond touch
For years the BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard was seen as the most effective and productive way of using a mobile device for text-based tasks such as email and editing documents on the go. Apple's touchscreen iPhone with a virtual keyboard and swipe gestures changed all that and now we are starting to see even more innovation around controlling devices through eye-scrolling and gesture control as seen with Samsung's Galaxy S4 and the Google Glass prototype. Also, check out the Myo gesture control armband (https://getmyo.com/) which is shipping at the end of this year.
2. More video and data
In the early years of consumer mobile phone development, size mattered and the market produced ever smaller and lighter devices. With the arrival of the internet, 3G (and now 4G) combined with cheaper and more compact processing power the phones (and screens) got bigger and smarter. As high-speed connectivity becomes ever more ubiquitous the screen is once again becoming more important as we do more video-based tasks and consume entertainment on our devices. Indeed the GSMA predicts data will overtake voice revenues in mobile within the next five years.
3. Machine-to-Machine (M2M)
Previously 'dumb' everyday devices and sensors will become increasingly connected to the vast web we call the internet of things. Almost everything will have the capacity to become 'smart' and this will lead to a revolution in work and society as wearable devices monitor our health, cars become smarter and more efficient and intelligent city ecosystems become interconnected.
4. Graphene and new mobile form factors
The developments around graphene in particular are hugely exciting. Not only is graphene the thinnest material ever made (it's one atom thick), it's incredibly strong (300-times stronger than steel), flexible and a better conductor than copper. We are already starting to see some early prototype development around bendable and flexible super-thin mobile phones. I believe we've barely scratched the surface of what might be possible in this field, not only for mobile but wider computing and engineering.
Forty years since that first mobile call the telecoms industry is worth £800billion a year, there are almost 7 billion connected devices and the number of mobile devices is predicted to outstrip the number of people on our planet this year

Eight companies seek Sebon nod for IPO

Eight companies have applied to the Securities Board of Nepal (Sebon) for its approval to do their initial public offering (IPO). The IPOs have a combined worth of Rs 1.45 billion.

Among the eight companies, seven are banks and financial institutions (BFIs) and one is a hydropower company — Mega Bank, Mission Development Bank, Small Farmers’ Development Bank, Rural Microfinance Development Centre (RMDC), Manaslu Development Bank, Mount Makalu Development Bank, Samriddhi Development Bank and Sanima Mai Hydropower Company.

Almost all the companies are planning to IPO by the end of the current fiscal year. Mega Bank’s IPO, which is scheduled to be held by April-end, is worth Rs 699 million.

The bank recently launched an IPO savings account with the aim of assisting prospective subscribers.

RMDC, which is involved in the microfinance sector, has planned to issue shares worth Rs 280.08 million.

The company, which has been providing wholesale lending to microfinance institutions, is also expected to attract a large number of investors due to its encouraging financial performance in the past several years.

According to Sebon, Manaslu Development Bank has planned an IPO worth Rs 36 million.

Similarly, Mission Development Bank is planning to do an IPO worth Rs 30 million, Mount Makalu Development Bank Rs 6 million and Samriddhi Development Bank Rs 30 million.

Likewise, Small Farmers’ Development Bank has planned to issue shares worth Rs 60 million. The bank in which the government also has a stake has been providing services all over the country.

Meanwhile, stock traders have expressed doubts about the response to the IPOs.

Anjan Poudel, past president of the Nepal Stockbrokers’ Association, said potential buyers had started showing concern over the performance of the companies.

Poudel said that investors now look at the financial records of the institutions doing an IPO before purchasing stock.

“Now investors are also showing  concern over the mergers that are going on between many B and C class financial institutions while contemplating buying stock,” he added.

Sanima Mai is the only company from the real sector among the applicants for Sebon’s approval.

Its planned IPO is worth Rs 211 million. According to Sebon, the company is at the final stages of receiving the go-ahead. As per a source

at Sebon, it could happen within a week.

Sanima Mai is constructing a power plant with a capacity of 22 MW in Ilam district. The company will allocate shares worth Rs 105.5 million to the local people from nine village development committees in the affected area.

Poudel said that the IPO of a hydropower company may attract subscribers as the sector has been described as a national level priority.

Meanwhile, Sindhu Bikas Bank and Jhimruk Development Bank have recently been okayed to issue their primary shares.

Sindhu Bikash Bank has planned to do an IPO worth Rs 49 million. Jhimruk, a hydro project based in Pyuthan district, is scheduled to issue shares worth Rs 16 million.

1.5 million new jobs could be generated by the European internet economy

By Daniel Hunter

A new study published by Vlerick Business School in Belgium and carried out on behalf of IAB Europe has revealed that Europe has the potential to generate an additional 1.5 million jobs in the EU through the digital economy.

The study titled, Online Jobs Boosting Europe's Competitiveness revealed that the internet sector in the EU already employed 3.4 million people, but that the sectors full potential, both in terms of growth and job creation, has yet to be fully realised.

Key findings in the Vlerick study reveal that given the impact of the internet sector on GDP growth —particularly in the UK, Sweden, Germany, France and Italy where the internet was found to directly contribute between 1.7% and 6.3% of GDP — there is potential for the sector to create between 400,000 and 1.5 million jobs within the European digital economy.

Steve Muylle, Professor at Vlerick Business School, said: “Our research reveals that the internet sector has become significant in the EU27 and that it can serve as a powerful catalyst for economic growth. The latter will not only bring employment yet also foster innovation, such as in digital advertising.”

Kimon Zorbas, Vice President of IAB Europe, said: "We have discovered that if all European countries performed as well as Europe's leading internet economy — Sweden — Europe has the potential to generate up to an additional 1.5 million jobs in the sector. Even if we align with the US average output we will be able to generate an additional 400,000 digital jobs in Europe. At a time of crisis this makes our sector a beacon for an economic recovery model."

Dear Mr. Gurung,
Unique Fashion House is a renowned fashion store in town regarding the quality product in the town. So, my needs and my friends recommendation push me to reach your store to buy the leather jacket on 7th August 2012.

You explained me that this is the original jacket from Pakistan and will not fade out for 2, 3 years if it is protected from water and fire. You gave me a guarantee card if it is fade out within a year. Despite of my protection from water and fire, the color of jacket has faded out and there are several wrinkles lines in it within this short period of three months. It looks so very different within a short period of time.

So, please refund my amount of Rs.18,250 as per the terms and conditions of purchase. If it is not possible, you can exchange another original jacket of similar price and of better quality. For your conformity, a photo of jacket while I purchase and the photo of now as well as photocopy of invoice are attached herewith.

SUBJECT: Football
I was very pleased with the football team’s performance at Friday night’s game. You have trained a group of young men not only to play football well and with all the energy they have, but you’ve also taught them how to represent our school well. The opposing coach stopped me after the game to let me know how courteous and polite our boys were; I am proud of all of you.

Good luck Friday night as you and the boys get ready to head into district play. Win or lose, we are proud of the team you have built!

Thank You
